Teach Your Child The Alphabet

One of the first steps to a successful reader learn to recognize the letters of the alphabet. The alphabetic principle teaches that spoken language, the written word is represented, that arising from different combinations of letters, and that these combinations of letters and make all the sounds in the spoken language. Attaching sounds to these letters and learn to write them paves the way to successful reading and writing.

Learn their ABC say, is aGood Start for preschoolers, but it is equally important for your child to the sounds of the letters to learn. Preschool children who know the sounds of the letters of the alphabet have an easier time learning to read.

To read, every child should know the sounds of the letters as well as the forms and order. More than that he be in a position to have to remind them so quickly. When he sees the letter he should say in a position to delay the letters or sounds without its sound. Thisshould happen, whether it's letters in order or not hear.

While the alphabet song can be a fun way to start learning the alphabet is not enough, because the children must also be able to identify each letter. In fact, this ability is more important than knowing where it falls in the alphabet, as it is the key to learning to read.

Research shows it is important for children to be able to:

~ Recognize and name letters

~ Recognize first letter in a familiarWords (especially their own name)

~ Recognize both upper-and lowercase

~ Relate letter to the specific sounds they represent

Knowledge of the alphabet is the foundation for your child's literacy development and you should not assume your child will learn this skill in kindergarten. Wait until kindergarten to learn the ABCs, your child will be placed behind many other students and can cause additional stress.

Children who can read independently"translate" back into sounds exactly alphabet shapes. If we want our children to be able to read independently, we had to teach them:

~ The shapes of the letters of the alphabet;

~ The various sounds of each letter;

~ The sounds made by the combined letters.

You can start the lesson the alphabet, if your child is young. My son mastered his letters from his second birthday and I helped him do it without complaining and without tabs! He loves working with his "Letters"and even now as he approaches his fourth birthday requests a particular game or activity. He does not know, he learns that he thinks he is only joking with his mom.

There are many ways to help your child learn in preschool age, the sounds and the names of the letters of the alphabet.

You do not need expensive tools and programs, and in fact, many of which can be counterproductive, as it does the learning. My greatest achievement was simply to letters in connection with the worldwhenever he was open to the possibility. The writing is simply a part of our daily lives, including shopping and gaming.

Leave Our Kids Alone

A report by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) and the University of New Hampshire showed that among a sample of children and adolescents who use the Internet:

1 of 5 children - Solicited for sex in the past year.

Asked for 1 in 33 children - Aggressively sexual, which means that the child was threatened, asked to meet, called on the telephone or receive e-mail or gifts.

1 of 4 children - Exposed to have sex pictures of people, includingwhen about 1 / 3 of the households reported "Internet blocking software."

1 in 17 children - threatened or harassed on the Internet, including threats of harm to the child, friends or other family members.

Unfortunately there are currently free, will not distribute obscene sexual content, adult, children online, without legal recourse. This creates the following irony: publishers and distributors of pornographic magazines or videos legally prohibited from selling, renting, or displaying them at children in a bookstore or video store, but the same publishers and retailers are legally sell or display the same magazines and videos for children online.

There have been several press reports of pedophiles with chat rooms to lure children into face to face meetings. According to a recent national newspaper report, chat rooms are the most popular activities for children on the Internet, but most of unsupervised chat rooms. Many of them are "private", only accessibleInvitation and special passwords (the children are provided by e-mail or instant-type messages on the screen of a specific child).

Due to the use of chat rooms, adult strangers have a direct one-on-one access to our children. The "safe" environment at home, combined with natural confidence of our children could cause them to forget that these people are strangers. This makes it easier for pedophiles to prey on children who never talk to a stranger in the "realWorld. "

Video Police investigators when they themselves as teenage girls in chat rooms, they are often approached by strangers making sexual advances. In addition, an online pedophile community, where they can check their behavior other like-minded individuals and share information and "tricks of the trade-minded people have created."

One of the biggest deterrent to pedophiles face is the fear of being caught, and walk the threat and danger, were arrested.

Parentsbear the main responsibility for teaching their children to be wise and safe Internet users. To achieve this, parents, practical and helpful resources, safety tips and technology need to be aware of.

Ultimately, the involvement of parents for a successful online experience is critical - as is any other pitfalls of life such as alcohol or drug abuse to avoid. Parents must educate their children about online safety, including the possibility of encounters with pedophiles, which means thatParents themselves must become familiar with the medium.

There is software available online that can take these predators and to secure to stop your children from these sick people.

And while this software can not stop predatory pedophiles from the hunt for children on the Internet, it provides an essential for your children by saving monitory on their Internet activities.

If a pedophile has an online conversation with your child, the software recordsEntertainment, including incriminating evidence, and any personal or contact information that you give your child.

This software can also capture the images that could leave your children in order to chat with MySpace.com

You can then read on both sides of the conversation. Here you can see if your child is approaching or had a conversation with someone they do not, you will then be able to act accordingly and to report thereon to prevent local law enforcement agencies and them away with your child.

Is it wrong to spy on your children?

No, of course, some people have a different opinion, but we know that in today's "sexually charged" environment, it's just a matter of time until your child is exposed to things, people or situations that they should not.

If your child "monitoring" s are online activities, you are not espionage, you as a responsible parent and the acquisition of people and images that your attack> Child every day.

To survive the people who might not agree with me, and that the use of software as "espionage", then we say to them: "If it keeps your child safe, so what?"

If "intelligence" on what will help your children do online to keep it and protect my family, they shall no harm no foul.

Even if you do not have online sex offender concerned (and should) teen peer pressure is extremely intense in those days. Monitor your children will help them keep out of troubletoo.

There are many software packages from the Internet to check the suits you.The one know a iam for my children to safety, called the Tattletale the link is in my blog may very well preserved. Luckily I did not harbor doubts, but for my wife and I, knowing it is that children are sure to enjoy the Internet, which for them is a wonderful resource for studying and chatting with real friends.

To make sure your children are in their own homes safely buy, and some goodSoftware, to protect them, it will stop these sick people to ruin your children's life.

But remember, parents should not expect that all bear the responsibility of this task alone. To share the Internet to a secure, educational and entertaining for children, who are responsible (by the public, parents, teachers or other persons), the technology industry and law enforcement authorities. Everyone must have their share of responsibility and act with dueDiligence. With this commitment to the community, the Internet is not only a rewarding place for children, but also a safe and a.

Traditional Publishing Or Self Publishing - Making an Educated Choice

What are the differences between traditional publishing and self-publish? Many! Careful consideration is required to weigh the advantages and disadvantages of each method. More reflection is required for an author to finally "reached the correct" decision to publish their work.

Traditional publishing is a lengthy process of advertising between author, agent and publisher. First, the author writes the manuscript. Then try a remedy that has survived a monumentalTask in and of itself. Once represented, the author writes about a query or a proposal and sends it to a publisher procured by the agents. The publisher then accepts or rejects the working writer. In the case of the consent of the publisher buys the rights to the work of the writer and pays an advance on royalties. The publisher decides when to publish the book, eagerly process the content, choose the cover design, printing for the estimated numberthey think will sell, and then the book distributed to its contracted bookstore. Once the book is distributed to the publisher may or may not actively promote the book. The total percentage of royalties to dictate the author deserves. Many authors are surprised that, once the book will be distributed, as expected in the author that they promote at their own expense. If a book is not sold, as well as expected in the first 120 days, some publishers ask the author to return to theirAdvance. However, if successful you could be the next Stephen King or John Gresham (but they) have a scrapbook with rejections from publishers, which now occur even for their violence.

If the author refused the request will then be free to take a different publisher. The reality of the query processing is that a writer is a good, clean, well-written and well-edited manuscript to the rounds on many different publishers before itsuccessful. The process can take years and requires incredible tenacity, since each publisher may take up to six months to produce a letter of rejection.

Self-publishing is stepchild often seen as the red-headed of the literary world. There is a stigma associated with the self publishing in some circles, but for many aspiring authors, it is their saving grace. Once in print and on the shelves of the bookseller can not tell the average reader, even a book publishedone that has traditionally been published.

In implementing self publishing, the author of its own publishing house. The author must write not only the book, but also pay for the cover design, editing, printing, advertising and distribution. You need to be prepared for the market, fill orders and carry out their own PR campaign. The author owns their work positively, and if an aggressive promoter can be the way to the bestseller list for sale with a goodSales strategy, a powerful Web site that includes support and increase sales. The good news is that the author of the book into the hands of 6 months from the manuscript finished, in contrast to traditional publishing, which lasts more than a year can have!

Speed has a high price! Depending on the self-publishing the author chooses to publish, as a rule, it costs upwards of $ 20,000 to self-determination. However, you get what you pay in the process! It's your book, your cover, andYour content. There are some disadvantages to self-publishing that go through the expensive purchase price. "'s Publishing and advertising for your book very time consuming. It requires a unique blend of marketing and business acumen that most authors do not do to get started fast but once in the processes. Most of the work more successfully with a book and marketed in the hands of the public duties require completely different context to write. Finally, themajor consideration is that many booksellers do not create a book that is not distributed nationally shelved, but if you sell enough copies on line then they can not afford it, you black list.

Select time for a decision on a publication called for a complete analysis of the objectives of the author for the publication and the type of power they have. If you are stubborn, persistent, and have a stiff upper lip, which is resistant to rejection, then traditional publishing couldYou follow the path. If you are under time pressure, a highly organized self-starter, and have a cash reserve could then publish your own course to follow. Each publisher has its advantages and shortcomings of methodology, but with careful consideration and analysis can authors make a confident choice, as they follow their publication dreams.

When Should You Begin Teaching Your Child to Read?

It's never too early to read the beginning of teaching your child, or at least the foundations for early literacy skills, and it can definitely be left too late!

If you are not sure, then you think about it. Statistically, more American children suffer long-term damage caused by the lifelong process of learning than from parental abuse, accidents, read, and combines all the other childhood diseases and disorders. In purely economic terms, reading related difficulties cost our nationmore than the war against terrorism, crime and drugs together.

Reading problems are a further challenge for our world by a substantial contribution to the maintenance of socio-economic, racial and ethnic disparities. However, it is not just poor and minority children who struggle with reading. After the 2002 national report card in reading by the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP), most of our children (64%) less than skills in reading, even after 12 years of ourAttempts to teach.

Even without knowing these worrisome statistics we know that literacy is essential for success - not only scientifically, but in life. As the American Federal of Teachers states: "No other player taught in school and learned by school children is more important than reading. It is the gateway to all other knowledge. Teacher-student will read to the end of the third class, the most important task assigned to elementary schools. Those who learn to readwith ease in the early grades have a foundation to build on the new knowledge. Those who are not sentenced to repeated cycles of frustration and failure. "

More than any other person or ability, our kids futures are, how well they learn, determined to read.

Reading is absolutely fundamental. It has been said so often that it became meaningless, but it does not negate the truth. In our society, in our world, hands over the inability to read, children to fail in school andAdult passes to the lowest strata of job and life opportunities.

And just when we thought the operation could not be higher in the past decade, educational research findings have found that children have to learn to read as well, yet another, even more life-forms that follow. Most children begin to learn, while reading a profoundly formative phase in their development. As they begin to learn to read, they also learn to think abstractly. You learn how to learn, and they areExperience emotionally charged feelings about who they are and how well they learn.

What does this mean? Most children who struggle with reading blame themselves. Day after day, week after week, month after month, year after year, teaches the process of learning to read, these children are ashamed - ashamed to be ashamed of their minds - how they learn.

And the sad truth is that they have nothing to be ashamed. As Dr. Grover Whitehurst, Director Instituteof Education Sciences, Assistant Secretary of Education, says U.S. Department of Education (2003): "Reading failure for nearly every child is the child's failure, it is the failure of policy makers, the failure of schools, the failure of teachers and the failure of the parents. We need to reconceptualize what to learn to read it, too, and who is responsible for the success, if we are going to deal with the problem. "

Will you wait for policy makers to find a solution?Do you have the confidence that they? Or would you prefer to ensure that the task correctly when you are done at no charge?

I know what my answer, because I see first hand my brother's life difficult to know, what can an irrevocable impact a reading struggle early in life to make. You can sign your child for life!

I am not promising that your child can learn to read early or that they do not experience difficulties. Finally, there is a significant number of childrenSuffering from learning difficulties. These children struggle. However, early education can alleviate their suffering and to handle the fight a bit easier. At least you will know that you all what you have to help your child and your child will be so good, you know. That can not be wasted effort!

And you have a head start on every educator because you know your child - herr temperament, their strengths and their weaknesses. They are bestequipped to begin teaching your child.

So we come back to the central question-When should begin your child's reading education? Read Traditional American Education models call for teaching a child aged between 7-9. Obviously we can not start teaching reading as a newborn. However, we can begin in childhood, the foundation for literacy, place the stop at the conclusion of your child a stronger reader.

Literacy is defined as a person Ability to read, write and speak English, to compute and solve problems that require a level of skills to the labor market function in the family of the individual and in society.

Many of the simple things that we at home with our children to develop literacy, so that you are already in the workplace so that your child read and write, even if you are not active at the beginning of the process to teach your child to read . These include simple activities such as reading to your'Child, reciting rhymes kindergarten and singing songs.

But what if you do not want active at a subscriber? There are many things you can do, and it does not mean that you need to invest hundreds of dollars in an expensive reading program to. It's not really necessary to spend much money at all to teach your child to read at home or at least your child is well prepared for the start of reading instruction in school. Most parents already have the tools to help you in yourHome start today!

That is why I emphasize that it is never too early to get started if you are with your child's development and learning fun and interesting but also challenging work.

My main strategy as an educator is to create learning opportunities and then to lift them out of the way to my students so that they can learn. Learning is an active experience that should participate fully in the participants. I believe that when I teach "that the student is only passively involved inthe learning process. I see myself more as a guide and a resource than a teacher in my class. I have taken this approach with the formation of my son and it has been very successful.

We have various learning toys and aids in our house and there are many lessons taking place every day (at home and away), but I have never drilled him on facts or even used flashcards.

If you find ways to make learning fun and exciting, something that your child really wants to do withYou start, then as soon as possible.

Your child will be ample opportunity for dry lectures, mind-numbing repetitive exercises, lessons and boring as they get older, so do not even go there. If you do not even go there not learning fun and play more than work, then. They hope to trust your child's education to the professional and the best. Remember, there are many wonderful teachers out there, so that you child is not doomed to failure, even if you do not. intervene However, the system is not a success, and it is likely that at some point during the process, your child may adversely affect it! That's why I take an active role in my child's education.
